Various institutes and subject areas at the University of St.Gallen research and teach on diversity, gender, disability & inclusion. They are committed to equal opportunities and inclusion both inside and outside the university. The Gender Portal serves as a platform to present the activities of members of the University in teaching, research and services, to facilitate networking and inform about current topic-specific events and news from the subject areas and institutes.
Prof. Dr. Christa Binswanger is Head of the Subject Area of Gender & Diversity and Co-President of the Equality Committee at the University of St.Gallen. She is a member of renowned Swiss and international networks committed to diversity, gender, disability & inclusion: She is a board member of the Swiss Association for Gender Studies (SAGS) and is involved in gender policy issues as a representative of the Think Tank Gender & Diversity in the national working group on science policy.
Prof. Binswanger is a member of the CEMS "Gender & Diversity Group", where she regularly participates in team teaching. She is also the Swiss spokesperson for the Women's and Gender Studies Institutions in German-speaking Countries (KEG). She is instrumental in promoting the University of St.Gallen’s national and international networking in the field of gender and diversity.
As a recognised expert in the field, Prof. Binswanger communicates scientific findings on gender and diversity to the public through various media channels.
